This week, I’ve been contacted by residents desperately concerned about proposals by London Councils to review the rules on who qualifies for a Freedom Pass.

Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are visiting Sutton as part of an inspection. They will be looking at arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Sutton Council has taken significant steps to address London’s housing crisis following recent decisions on two of its flagship regeneration projects.

Sutton Council’s Short Term Assessment and Reablement Team (START) service has been awarded a 'Good' rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a comprehensive assessment in November 2025.

Last week I was incredibly proud to launch Sutton Council’s Economic Growth Plan. Sutton is home to over 200,000 residents, 8,000 businesses and 84,000 jobs, the plan sets out our vision for growth over the next decade. 

The Living Well Centre will be run by Age UK Sutton and will be available to previous users of Cheam Priory Day Centre, along with other residents in the local area. 

Sutton Council has launched its Economic Growth Plan that sets out its vision for growth over the next decade. The plan sets out how the South London borough will build on its existing £5bn annual economy, 8,000 businesses, and 84,000 jobs.
