Applying for a Freedom Pass
If you’re 66 or over and live in London, you can:
- apply for a Freedom Pass on the London Councils website
- download the Freedom Pass application form from the London Councils website
Freedom Passes Renewal
Passes Expiring 31 March 2026
If your Freedom Pass expires on 31 March 2025 the following information will explain what you need to do to renew your pass.
Older Person’s Freedom Passes
If your address has not changed
If you are an Older Person’s Freedom Pass holder whose pass expires on 31 March 2025 and you have not changed address, or you have notified London Councils of your new address, you will automatically receive your new pass in the post before your current pass expires.
If you have not notified London Councils of a change of address
If your address has changed since you received your last Freedom Pass and you have not notified London Councils, you will need to provide one of the following documents so that your address can be updated:
- current council tax bill/letter/payment book
- current council/housing association rent book/statement/letter/tenancy agreement
- current television licence
- residential utility bill/letter/online statement printout (we do not accept mobile phone bills) - Must be dated within the last three months
- HM Revenue and Customs letter - Must be dated within the last three months
- Department for Work and Pensions letter - Must be dated within the last three months
- Occupational pension letter - Must be dated within the last three months

Disabled Freedom Passes
If your address has not changed
If you are a Disabled Freedom Pass holder whose pass expires on 31 March 2025 and you have not changed address, or you have notified the Sutton Council Concessionary Travel Team of your new address, you will automatically receive a new pass in the post before your current pass expires.
If you have not notified the Sutton Council Concessionary Travel Team of your new address
If you have changed address and have not notified the Sutton Council Concessionary Travel Team, and wish to continue using a Freedom Pass you will need to contact the Concessionary Travel Team on 020 8770 4578 and provide one of the following documents so that your address can be updated:
- current council tax bill/letter/payment book
- current council/housing association rent book/statement/letter/tenancy agreement
- current television licence
- residential utility bill/letter/online statement printout (we do not accept mobile phone bills) - must be dated within the last three months
- HM Revenue and Customs letter - Must be dated within the last three months
- Department for Work and Pensions letter - Must be dated within the last three months
- Occupational pension letter - Must be dated within the last three months

If you're 60 or over and haven’t reached state retirement age, you can apply for a 60+ Oyster card on the TfL website. It gives you free travel in London on:
