Also featuring children’s author Raymond Antrobus (Can Bears Ski?), poet Lucy Furlong, crime writer Vaseem Khan, artist Sheba Montserrat and many more writers and artists.

Taking place over the weekend of 12th and 13th of October at Wallington Library, Honeywood Museum, Cicely House in the Ecology Centre and other venues in and around Carshalton. Sutton’s first literary festival brings together literature, creativity, and culture for people of all ages and backgrounds. Full details can be found in the festival’s programme which includes a series of author talks and roundtable discussions.

I am really pleased that all events are free to attend, thanks to support from Arts Council England. Don’t miss the Imaginarium where neurodivergent individuals can engage with authors and literature in a  calm and supportive environment.

I am excited that the author and former BBC presenter Louise Minchin will be our headline speaker. Joining her will be Vaseem Khan, discussing her latest work, and artist Sheba Montserrat, whose stand-up set explores women, ageing, and technology.

Workshops will focus on creativity and wellbeing, with sessions at Sutton Ecology Centre led by poet Lucy Furlong and environmentalist Lev Parikian. Children’s events at Wallington Library will feature Raymond Antrobus and Anna Orenstein, encouraging young minds to explore their creativity

Please join me in celebrating literature, diversity, and community at Sutton’s Literary Festival this October.
