It’s 30 years since the first Fairtrade marked product appeared on supermarkets shelves, Green and Black’s Maya Gold Chocolate. Today there are over 5000 Fairtrade products available in the UK. 

Fairtrade Fortnight starts on Monday 9th September and is a great opportunity to consider if you are shopping to support justice and equality for farmers across the globe.

When you choose Fairtrade, you contribute to a fairer, more sustainable future for food production and help ensure farmers receive a fairer price for what they grow.
Last year, London Borough of Sutton’s Fairtrade Community status was renewed, and Sutton Fairtrade continued their great work to raise awareness of the importance of Fairtrade locally.
