Sutton Council’s four leisure centres, operated by Everyone Active, provide a range of activities and facilities for all to stay active, healthy and having fun. There is free swimming for residents over 60 and 12 months free membership for new foster carers, and some women-only activities which were agreed as part of the recent contract update with Everyone Active.
The Unity Allstars Cheerleading team, based at The David Weir Leisure Centre are heading to Orlando next week for the world championships. Representing our borough on such a global stage is a phenomenal achievement, and I know you'll all join me in wishing them the very best.

With the Easter holidays in full swing, our leisure centres are buzzing with family-friendly activities. May is National Water Safety Month. Our leisure centres are running daily Crash Swimming Courses throughout the Easter Holidays at both Westcroft and Cheam for children aged 3-15. This is a great way for young people to improve swimming techniques and build water safety skills.

I'm so proud of the Inclusive holiday programme running across the leisure centre sites. These programmes ensure that children of all abilities have the chance to participate in fun and engaging activities during the school break. The Youth Zone at the Phoenix Centre is running a dedicated half-term programme, and the Junior Adventures Group is providing a comprehensive kids' Easter Holiday Programme, running Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Plenty more is happening in Sutton’s leisure centres. April is Parkinson's Awareness Month and Westcroft is hosting a special event for those living with Parkinson’s. The Phoenix Centre launched its community cafe this week and at David Weir, Men's Walk and Talk sessions started on Monday 7 April, and are taking place every Monday
Our Everyone Active-run leisure centres are more than just places to exercise. They are lively and active community hubs that support local talent, promote wellbeing, and offer inclusive opportunities. I'm proud of the diverse activities and encourage everyone to explore what's available and get involved.
