Have your say in Sutton!

It’s really important to me that as a Council we create opportunities for our residents and businesses to have a say on the future of Sutton and the services we deliver.
From today (Friday 26 July 2024), we are launching a number of consultations and we're eager to hear from everyone, so please get involved and share them with your friends and neighbours. You can find all consultations and details of information events on our Citizen Space website.
The Sutton Local Plan consultation focuses on the future development of Sutton. This includes where our main development sites should be, what housing residents would like to see being built, and what services, like GP surgeries Sutton needs to support this future development. Your thoughts are really important as they will help to shape our Sutton Local Plan. The local plan is an official document that all Councils are required to have and submit to the government. Your feedback will help us draft a new plan. Once this is ready, later in the year we will share the plan with you to make sure we have captured what you have told us you would like to see.
We're also consulting on charges for social care services for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. These charges will only apply to those assessed as able to pay. Learn more on the Citizen Space website.
Additionally, we are reviewing the Council Tax Reduction Scheme, which helps low-income residents with their council tax. We have proposed some changes and need your feedback.
All of these consultations are crucial in helping us to shape what you want to see from the Council in the future and how you think we should be spending Council money. This is really important as the Council faces a £17 million budget gap for next year.
Some of this means we are asking for your views on really difficult choices but in doing so we will make sure that we continue to support our most vulnerable residents. Your views are essential in helping us when making these tough decisions. Please take part and have your say.

Councillor Barry Lewis
