Current and former residents joined the Council and its newly selected development partner - Lovell Partnership - for a day of fun and activities on the Elm Grove Estate in Sutton town centre last Saturday!
Around 30 residents attended the event where they met members of the Lovell team who will be delivering this key council estate regeneration programme. The day was a big success with fun and excitement for all ages making it a day for everyone to remember.
The outline plans for Elm Grove were approved by the Council's Planning Committee on 4 September 2024 and include construction of around 290 new sustainable homes for current and new residents. 50% of the homes will be affordable, with major improvements proposed for the surrounding environment and to Market House, home of the popular Sound Lounge.
Adam Tucker, Head of Regeneration, Enabling and Development at Sutton Council, said:
"The Council is excited to secure a developer partner and outline planning approval for the regeneration of the Elm Grove estate.
“We were delighted that so many residents felt the same and came to the fun day to celebrate these key milestones in the future of their homes and estate.
“These achievements bring us significantly closer to delivering much-needed new homes for the borough's residents. The Council is committed to and will continue to engage with residents and local stakeholders as further details of the scheme are developed."
