What Covid rules apply to overseas travel?

From 11 February, adults who have had two doses of the Covid vaccine, and under-18 year olds, will no longer need to take a lateral flow test two days after they arrive in England.

But travellers arriving in England who aren't fully vaccinated must show proof of a negative Covid test taken two days before they travel, and must still take a PCR test when they arrive. If the test is negative, they won’t need to self-isolate or take a test on day eight.

All passengers will still need to fill in a passenger locator form.

Different countries and travel operators all have their own rules, so make sure you check before you travel and top-up your Covid vaccinations in good time.

Anyone entering the country who has been vaccinated overseas must have received their jabs in a country or territory with approved proof of vaccination to qualify for these rules. This now covers most countries in the world with more - including China, due to be added to the list on 11 February.
