Air quality monitoring

As part of our commitments under the Air Quality Action Plan we monitor air pollution in the borough. We do this using an extensive, state-of-the-art monitoring network. This is made up of 26 nitrogen dioxide diffusion tubes. They produce monthly average concentration readings for this pollutant. Additionally, we have four continuous automatic monitoring stations. These stations track a variety of pollutants and produce live data.

• This data is not bias adjusted until after the end of the calendar year. Un-bias adjusted data is likely to significantly overestimate pollution levels. 

The Breathe London project also carries out continuous monitoring in the borough. This project is funded by the Greater London Authority.
