Find out how technology such as sensors and detectors can help you live safely and independently in your own home.
Technology enabled care – sometimes called care technology or telecare – supports you or the person you care for to live more independently at home. It can boost your confidence, and gives peace of mind to family and carers.
We've partnered with Medequip Connect to provide residents with a digital care system that connects you to family, friends and care professionals.
Medequip’s service covers a range of technology, including the award-winning Assure system provided by The Access Group.
The system is made up of sensors, detectors and panic buttons around your home. They are linked by the Access Assure Home Hub, which is a device plugged into a power socket.
The equipment sends activity-based data to the people in your care circle. They can access information via a phone app to let them know you're safe and well.
For instance, a family member can be alerted:
It also lets them know if anything has happened, such as a fall.
The system builds up a detailed picture of your daily routine and can see when things aren’t going well or if anything is changing. Friends, family and carers can see this and react quickly.
If you need help or there's an emergency, you can press the panic button or your Home Hub screen. This automatically connects you to the Medequip contact centre, which is open 24 hours a day, every day.
An emergency responder will be sent within 45 minutes if the situation requires it.
You can buy the system, or find out more about it, by visiting Medequip Connect’s care technology shop at the civic offices in Sutton.
If you’re funding it yourself you’ll pay:
If you think you have eligible care needs, Medequip will refer you to us for a care needs assessment.
If you qualify for care, we’ll ask you to complete a financial assessment. This will tell us how much you’ll need to pay towards your care, including any care technology.
Most people pay something towards their care.
If you think care technology might help you, get in touch with Medequip Connect or visit their care technology shop at the civic offices in Sutton.
