Sutton Central by-election
A by-election will take place on Thursday 10 April 2025 to elect a new local councillor in Sutton Central.
You’ll need to pay a non-refundable inspection fee of £170 to submit a dropped kerb application. If we reject your application, you will not receive a refund.
This fee only covers:
You will also be responsible for the construction cost.
Our approved suppliers carry out the construction work to create a new or extend an existing dropped kerb. You cannot use your contractors for the work.
The maximum width for a dropped kerb is 4m, and this costs, on average, £1,600. Costs vary depending on the exact of the public footway and materials used.
Costs are non-negotiable, adjusted annually and set under the council's current term and with our contractors.
Sometimes, other work is needed to construct a dropped kerb. This could include:
You’ll also need to cover additional costs for completing other work.
You can pay using a credit card at the end of the application form. We can begin construction of the dropped kerb once we receive the payment.
We’ll contact you to discuss payment for construction and any additional costs.
If a member of your household has a disabled badge, you can claim up to a £100 discount on the final cost of the construction work. After we've approved your dropped kerb, you can tell us about your blue badge.
