Empower Sutton Content Submission Guidelines.
Please note that all material submitted is subject to the following terms:
Information is published free of charge
Adheres to the Council’s Equality and Diversity policy, and must not infringe anti-discrimination legislation
Not constitute political advertising
Be of a non-commercial nature (except for events or advertising sponsored by the Council or its approved agencies)
We will not list any events which seek to promote a political or religious cause
Not be likely to cause offence to public taste and decency
Events must take place in the borough of Sutton
Events
If your story promotes an event, this will normally be published two weeks prior to the date of the event. Please do not submit events more than 4 weeks in advance.
If an event is repeated over several dates, we may include it as a story rather than event listings.
The events calendar is to be used for public community events, not to advertise private businesses or services
Events must take place in registered public premises, not at private addresses
The council reserves the right to exclude any event we consider inappropriate or offensive
The council cannot guarantee the inclusion of any event
An event advertisement can only run for a maximum of 3 months. If your event is recurring then please send us a new event form or email request to extend the advertisement before the event expires (this is to ensure event details are kept up to date)
News stories and events included in the listing do not carry the endorsement of the Communications Team or Sutton Council
If you have any queries regarding this, please email the Communications team at communicationsteam@sutton.gov.uk
Licensing
Depending on the nature of your event it's possible you may need to register or apply for a licence. Visit the Essential Information for Event Organisers page for more information.
