Have your say at meetings of the Planning Committee
If you have an interest in a planning application that is being considered by the Planning Committee, you can request to speak at the meeting or submit a written representation via the Planning Portal.
Speak at a meeting
Applicants, residents and ward councillors may request to address a meeting of the Committee for a maximum of 4 minutes. Should there be more than 1 person requesting to speak with the same interest in an application, we will ask that either:
- a nominated representative addresses the committee for 4 minutes
- the 4 minute time limit is divided between the registered speakers
You can complete a form to request to speak at Planning Committee.
The form will open when the reports for the meeting are published on the council's website, ordinarily 10 days before a meeting. The form will close at midday on the day of the meeting. To request to speak after this deadline, please contact Committee Services via email.
Please note that meetings of the Planning Committee are usually live streamed. If you address the committee, please do not disclose any information you do not wish to be in the public domain.
Should you wish to address the committee but are unable to attend the meeting in-person, please contact Committee Services for further advice.
Submit a written representation via the Planning Portal
If you want to make a comment on an application but do not wish to speak at the meeting, you can comment on the application hosted on the Council’s website.
In order to log your comments you will need to visit the Online Public Access system to register and submit comments.
