The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) has to approve cameras used to enforce parking contraventions.

This is required under The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (Approved Devices) (England) Order 2007.

Most fines given for parking are issued by enforcement officers.

We also use a mobile CCTV vehicle and static cameras for:

  • moving traffic offences
  • bus lane offences

Cameras used for moving traffic offences don't need to be certified.
