Last year, a staggering 1 million people got involved with the London Festival of Architecture across the capital and it is expected to be even bigger and better this year as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Carolyn Dwyer, Strategic Director for Development, Growth and Regeneration at Sutton Council, said:

“The London Festival of Architecture is celebrating places across the capital that are reimagining spaces - and with Sutton’s ambitious mission to revive buildings across the town centre as well as delivering a world-leading campus that will help the global fight in beating cancer, we’re the perfect fit.

“We’re a vibrant borough with a growing population, an impressive mix of buildings and a thriving community.

“We're proud that our communities and local businesses are leading the events to celebrate the London Festival of Architecture in Sutton High Street. I’m sure that everyone will enjoy all the events on offer.”

Benjamin O’Connor, Director of New London Architecture, said:

“The London Festival of Architecture Neighbourhoods programme encapsulates the community feeling that the festival brings to the local areas and will spotlight hyperlocal creativity and heritage, celebrating the distinctiveness of these neighbourhoods and the people who are shaping them.

"We are delighted to have Sutton High Street on board as a Neighbourhood for our 20th anniversary celebrations.”
